How would you describe your home decor collection?
Valeri Adams (VA): My home decor collection is an eclectic mix of antiques and modern products. Some items have been refurbished and repurposed, and other products I have found at thrift stores. Whether you’re looking for an antique piece or a modern item, you’ll always find something that you like.
How long have you been at Cottonwood Market?
VA: I have been at Cottonwood Market since July. I visited Cottonwood Market a long time ago, and then when the opportunity presented itself this year, I had to take it. I started selling vintage clothing items when I was in my 20’s, and I’ve been collecting ever since. Once I got married and had kids, I stopped collecting for a while, and in the past ten years, I’ve picked it back up. Now, I’m an empty nester, so I’m going full throttle.
How do you find inspiration for your home decor collection?
VA: My favorite thing to do is to find treasures. I enjoy hunting for items that I really love, and also I keep the customers in mind. When searching for items, I look for merchandise that someone will love even if they aren’t into antique shopping. Hunting for the items is definitely my favorite part.
What is a constant item that customers will find in your booth?
VA: Definitely my candles. I sell homemade paraffin soy blend candles in hand-painted containers. I started to make candles about six years ago when I realized I needed a constant product to sell while searching for new merchandise. These candles have become my staple, and they’ve been very popular! I will also refill candles for customers if they bring me their empty container so they can enjoy their candles even longer.
What are your favorite items that you sell?
Other than the candles, I love my lighting. I have found really unique lamps and lighting fixtures that you can use to brighten any room or bookshelf.
